Onshore / Offshore Drilling
Momentum’s Drilling Division owns and manages both onshore and offshore drilling rigs. We have successfully completed offshore drilling projects in Turkey, India, Bulgaria, the Mediterranean, Bangladesh, and the Arabian Gulf. Onshore, we have completed the highest elevation well in Turkey and multiple delineation drilling projects in Turkey, Bangladesh and the Arabian Gulf.
From well engineering to completion, our Drilling Division provides integrated solutions that enable clients to achieve their operational goals in the most efficient and economic manner. Engaged as the drilling contractor for Karasu Operating Company in

Cairn Energy |
• Purchased the jack-up rig OFFSHORE BAHRAM (now EEIV) and sold it to Cairn, along with a $51MM rig refurbishing program. Subsequently mobilized the rig to Bangladesh.
• Helped develop Bangladesh’s first offshore gas field under an 18-month contract with options. Contract included drilling and completing four development wells, re-entry and recompleting the discovery well, and drilling one exploration well.

Managed three jack-up rigs in successfully drilling more than 100

Turkish Petroleum Company (TPAO) |
• Drilled a total of nine wells in Turkey’s first-ever offshore field.
• Carried out Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning (EPIC) for an earthquake-resistant four-legged production platform, complete with topsides and subsea pipeline. This platform has been in production continuously since October 1997, with no down-time and no warranty claims.
• Performed exploration drilling in the Sea of Marmara.
• Currently negotiating to extend the initial EPIC contract to encompass a nine-well platform and facilities.
• Assisting TPAO in obtaining work in the Black Sea area.

NORDAN OIL & GAS |
Mobilized the jack-up rig ORIZONT from the Mediterranean and managed
its refitting in Sharjah, at a cost exceeding $7MM. Successfully
mobilized the rig to location and drilled three programmed wells, all on
time and under budget. |

1993 |
Govt of Bulgaria |
Drilled two turnkey wells in the Black Sea offshore
Bulgaria. The wells were drilled with one of the Petromar jack-ups,
which are MODU Classed by the RNR registry of shipping. Momentum
upgraded these rigs to compliance with Black Sea Pollution Convention
Standards’ latest draft, and all rigs were approved by the Bulgarian
Ministry of Environment for the sensitive Bulgarian resort coastline.
Before drilling these wells, Momentum initiated and carried out an
environmental study, including contingency planning. |
