Senior Management at Momentum is comprised of seasoned oilfield professionals who understand our business from personal experience. Working from our Dubai headquarters, they have made Momentum the successful global company it is through their dedication to advanced technology; Health, Safety, Security and the Environment (HSSE); quality service and adherence to a policy of controlled growth. The objective of the senior management team – and everyone at Momentum – is to exceed customers’ expectations and earn the highest level of trust and confidence.

James C. Larsen, Managing Director and CEO

Mr. Larsen has worked in the oilfield for more than 40 years. Before founding Momentum in 1987, he owned and operated boat and equipment companies in the Middle East and Europe. Throughout his career at Momentum, Mr. Larsen has focused on managing turnkey drilling, platform and pipeline installations and on building Momentum into a premier drilling services contractor. He has a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Applied Mathematics.

Jimmy Larsen, Deputy Managing Director

Mr. Jimmy Larsen has more than 20 years experience in Finance and Administration. Prior to joining Momentum, he was finance manager for Phillip Morris and the US Employees Credit Union. With a Bachelor in Business Administration, an MBA in Economics and Marketing and a Degree in Law, he controls the administration and corporate planning & policies of the Momentum Group.

T. A. Abraham, Financial Controller

Mr. Abraham has more than 40 year's experience in corporate finance and management accounting for multinational oil drilling, construction and engineering companies. He worked as Cost Controller for Tarmac Ltd; Finance & Administration Manager for Qurum Contractors Ltd; and Financial Controller for Oman International Corporation. He has a Master of Commerce (M.Com) Degree, is a Fellow of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (FCMA), Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants of Australia (FIPA) and Fellow of All India Management Association (FIMA). Mr. Abraham has been the CFO of Momentum Engineering Group for the past 20 years.

David Shaw, Project Coordinator

Mr. Shaw specializes in leading projects to successful conclusions. He coordinates the personnel, resources and equipment required, and plays a significant role in documenting projects from inception to conclusion. He is also Momentum’s primary project interface with third-party certification authorities and service subcontractors. Mr. Shaw has a B.S. from Old Dominion University and an MBA from the University of Houston.

Catalin Clipea, Project Manager

M.Sc (Hons) Mechanical Engineering, PMI – USA Project Manager certified, University Post Graduated in Contracts, Finance & Risk management. Mr. Catalin has 23 years of experience in oil & gas onshore/offshore client / contractor positions, PMC teams including EPIC Project Manager & Engineering Management, field developments, topsides, pipelines, petrochemicals, storage tanks in Middle-East GCC countries, Caspian Region, South East Asia and Europe for brownfield and Greenfield projects/programs. Proposal Manager for Tender/Bid packages preparation and follow up, bids evaluation and assessments. Engineering Manager for concepts, feasibility studies, Feed (EPCM) during construction, mechanical, completion, commissioning, start-up, hand over & close out.

Guy Goodwin, Project Manager

30 years of experience in oilfield gained from Scandinavia, North Sea, West Africa, Middle East & Far East. Mr. Goodwin has pratical experience working in semi submersibles, jackups, swamp barges, platforms, jackets & land rig operations. He is proficient with sub sea, single, double and triple string completions on HTHP & gas wells, multiple – lateral & extended reach wells, and work over operations. Prior to joining Momentum Engineering Mr. Goodwin was Drilling Country Manager and Operations Director in several countries in climates from -40C to +40C, and from desert to jungle in remote locations. He is expert in setting strategic direction & effective execution to meet corporate objectives. Core competency in penetrating new markets & starting SBU’s in emerging markets. Handled business with large turnover & diverse international teams.
